Air Ambient Cooling Function Example

Air Ambient Cooling Function Example

This example will be assuming some things about the Air Ambient installation:

  • The Air Ambient is installed to have cooling be triggered by the bottom connection of the two Thermistor Inputs
  • All Testing has been done to ensure that the controlled unit(s) do begin to cool when the cool button is pressed
  • There is one Temperature Probe connected to an Air Device that has been associated with the same Eniscope the Air Ambient is associated with
  • All additional settings within the Air Ambient have been setup to best match the application
    • Default states of the Ambient are set
    • Toggle Rates are set & working

Once complete, the example case we will use will be:

  • There is a single overhead Cassette providing cooling to the area (connected to TH1)
  • There is an Air Sense providing temperature readings
  • The space is 'open' from the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday
  • The space will be cooled if the temperature exceeds 23 degrees Celsius, but not allow it to go below 18 degrees

For this, we will need to set up the following Segments to build our Functions:

  • Two Actions: One to Turn the Unit to Cool & One to Turn the Unit Off
  • Two Triggers: One to Detect when the Temperature is greater than 23 degrees & One to Detect when the Temperature is less than 18 degrees
  • One Timer: To Allow operation from 8 - 6, Mon - Fri

The Actions will be setup as such:

(Note: Our "Off" Action has the register atm1 being set to 'Toggle' as this will act as a "shut off" switch to the unit)

The Triggers will be setup as such:

The Timer will be setup as such:

(Note: Since this Function is using a Trigger, we need to use the Trigger Timer)

Now that the segments have been made, they will need to be combined into two Functions:
